Winter. It is the season we are in a love-hate relationship with. There is no doubt that snuggling up by the heater with a cup of hot chocolate, wearing your favourite fluffy dressing gown and binge-watching Netflix every weekend can be totally therapeutic. However, it can feel a bit like Groundhog Day.
So, we have compiled a list of places to visit and things to do in Perth this winter to ensure that it does not completely dampen your social life:
Visit Holey Moley Mini-Golf
Love mini-golf but want to avoid the rain? Holey Moley is the perfect place to flex your competitive muscles while also having a lot fun. The course features 27 unique holes, spanning across 3 courses, all themed with a pop culture twist.
Lesmurdie Falls, Perth Hills
So maybe you cannot literally chase them. Regardless, Lesmurdie Falls is a beautiful place to visit in winter, especially on the sunnier days. Located in the Lesmurdie Falls National park, there are many walk-trails you can explore from. It is also the perfect place to set up a cute picnic. Put the phone away and get in touch with nature!
Day trip to Fremantle
Fremantle has something for everyone. There are countless retro cafes, boutiques and art galleries. We simply cannot go past the markets, which feature fresh local produce, independent products, along with vibrant music and atmosphere. This is one for the whole family.
Luna Palace Cinemas
If you have been in bed binge-watching movies all weekend, why not make a date out of it and visit a Luna Palace Cinema instead? Expand your tastes by going to see an alternative or contemporary flick.
Explore Elizabeth Quay
Grab the girlfriends and head out for a relaxed riverside dining experiencing at Elizabeth Quay. You can indulge in Modern Australian cuisine at The Reveley or Isle of Voyage. With the train station being close by, transport should not be an issue.
Put on your Dancing Shoes!
It is way too cold for outdoors venues, but Perth has many indoor clubs and pubs that you can visit on a rainy night. For rock and roll lovers, we suggest Joe’s Juice Joint in Northbridge. Or if you want something more modern, there are plenty of places in Leederville and the CBD.
Aladdin: The Musical
Get all dressed up and head to Crown Perth to see the dazzling Aladdin: The Musical! With a shimmering array of music, dance and props, this is the perfect way to avoid the cold weather for a night.
Cockburn Ice Arena
Embrace winter sports and put your skates on! We cannot guarantee you won’t fall over, but we promise you will have a lot of fun.
Margaret River Chocolate Factory
Swan Valley, Margaret River & Perth CBD
There is one thing that we cannot get enough of during winter… chocolate and hot beverages! Take a drive to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory and have all the free chocolate samples you want, alongside a delicious hot chocolate.
So simple, yet so fun. Organise a pizza and bowling night with your mates and head to one of Perth’s many bowling locations.
We do not blame you for wanting to stay indoors. It is FREEZING. But, if you find yourself with no plans but snuggling up in a blanket and watching Netflix this weekend, maybe it is time to start ticking things off our list.Follow Her Perth
